“NAHCON should involve more banks in HSS” – Hajj Operator

The Chairman and CEO of Mukail Travel and Tour, Alh Mukaila M. Bilyaminu has advocated for more inclusion of other banks in the Hajj Saving Scheme recently launched in Kano by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

Alh Mukaila who spoke with our reporter after the launching “commends NAHCON and other Stakeholders for introducing the scheme at this critical moment’ “I am very happy for the scheme and I actually commend NAHCON and other people involved in the occasion.
“This scheme will assist poor people to save money gradually before performing hajj. Mukaila who admitted that his company is yet to register with NAHCON said that he, however, have his “reservation as to why NAHCON chooses Jaiz Bank as the sole operator of the scheme. “I am not against Jaiz Bank but why will NAHCON restricts the Hajj Saving Scheme to Jaiz Bank alone.

“What will happen to the scheme if Jaiz Bank platform collapse especially close to Hajj exercise; what happened if the Bank itself has a problem.” Mukaila queried.
When reminded that Jaiz Bank is the only Islamic bank in Nigeria, Mukaila said that is not the issue because other Banks has Islamic complaints facilities.

“NAHCON has done well but they should allow and involved other banks that has Islamic complaints facilities to come into the Hajj Saving Scheme. This will make it wider and gives pilgrims different options. I am aware that Sterling bank operates iMAL Non-Interest Banking System, Stanbic and First Bank also has something similar. “ Mukail insisted
