New Yobe State Pilgrims Commission Chairman assume duty

The newly appointed Executive Chairman of Yobe State pilgrims commission Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman Biriri has resumed office following the expiration of 4-year tenure of the immediate past Chairman of the commission Alhaji Bukar Kime Dapsa.

 

 

The handing over event took place yesterday at the commission conference hall in Damaturu, Yobe State.

 

 

The outgoing Executive Chairman Alhaji Bukar kime Dapsa thanks the state government for giving him the opportunity to serve the state and the pilgrims.

 

Alhaji Bukar expresses appreciation to His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni, the entire management and staff of the commission for giving him maximum support throughout his tenure. He urges the staff to give the new leadership of the commission all the maximum support and to rededicate themselves to duty.

 

 

In his remarks The New Executive Chairman Alhaji Mai Aliyu Usman Biriri solicited for the support and cooperation from the staff and also thanks the outgoing Executive Chairman for the warm welcome he and the staffs of the commission accorded to him on his assumption.

#HAJJ REPORTERS report that The governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni had appointed Alhaji Mai Usman Biriri as the acting chairman of the state pilgrims’ commission.

 

The appointment was announced by the secretary to the state government, Baba Malam Wali via an appointment letter dated September 23,2022, with reference number GO/S/EST/62/S.2.

 

Though, the letter stated that the appointment is on acting capacity, the SSG said it is for an initial first tenure of four years, with effect from October 6, 2022.

 

“Your appointment into this exalted position us predicated on your past records of performance, dedication and commitments towards the development of the state.

 

“It is therefore, hoped that you will strive hard to justify the confidence reposed in you by this appointment,” the letter says.

 

The leadership of the immediate past chairman witnessed tremendous improvements in service delivery to Yobe State pilgrims. The state was awarded the best in service delivery for Hajj 2022 by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

 

It was also awarded the Best Pilgrims Boards in Service Delivery by Independent Hajj Reporters at the “Heroes of Hajj 2022” awards which held on Thursday, September 2022 in Abuja.
