Nigerian lawmaker dies in Saudi Arabia

A member of the Katsina State House of Assembly representing Bakori constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Kurami, has died in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

His political associate, Alhaji Nasiru Danguga, said Kurami died after a brief illness in Madinah at around 2:00 am Nigerian time.

The lawmaker had travelled to Medina for the lesser Hajji. Danguna said his funeral prayer and burial will be conducted by the authorities of Saudi Arabia.

He left behind two wives, eleven (11) children and three grandchildren.

Kurami was elected into the Katsina State House of Assembly in a by-election conducted on October 31, 2020, following the death of his predecessor, Hon. Abdurrazak Ismail Tsiga.
