Ogun Pilgrims Board Officials Meets Jaiz Bank On Migration Of Hajj Deposits Of Intending Pilgrims

Officials from the Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has met with a team from Jaiz Bank to discuss ways to implement the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria(NAHCON) on how to migrate hajj deposits of Intending Pilgrims for 2020/2021 into the Hajj Saving Scheme, (HSS).

 

A statement from the information officers of the board, Alapoti Nofisat & Gafar Alabi  on Wednesday said the  Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Salau Dauda requested for the modalities to be used in migrating the deposits in a way that would not bring hardship to the intending pilgrims and the board.

Alhaji Dauda stated that about Sixty percent of intending pilgrims from the state has agreed with ‘s directive and are willing to have their deposits migrated to the HSS.

The ES said the migration should be done in batches “for ease of administration and proper monitoring towards ensuring first come, first serve basis after due consultation with intending pilgrims and relevant stakeholders”.

 

He emphasised that some of the intending pilgrims do not have better understanding about the migration process hence the need to communicate to them on the modalities to be adopted, adding that the Board would give necessary support towards its success.

 

The leader of the Jaiz Bank team and the Unit Head, Private Banking and Institutional Banking Group, Mr. Sakirudeen Aminu said the migration process would capture the detailed information about intending pilgrims in order to ensure proper documentation.  He commended the Board for their conduct and the level of preparedness towards a seamless 2022 Hajj exercise.
