Oyo Muslim Pilgrim Board Fixes 2.6 million 2023 Hajj Fare Deposit, Submits 2022 Hajj Report

The Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrim Welfares’ Board (Muslim Wing), Prof. Sayed Malik along with other members of the Board has submitted the year 2022 Hajj Report to the Executive Governor of the State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.

 

While receiving the Report at the event which took place at the Government House, Agodi Ibadan, the Governor appreciated the Chairman and other members and staff of the Board for a successful Hajj Operation notwithstanding the initial hitches.

 

The Governor then enjoined them to be more proactive, steadfast and diligent in discharging their duties, devoid of corruption which could tarnish the good image of the State.

 

He therefore charged the Board to start the preparation for the 2023 Hajj operation in earnest in order to avoid last time rush.

Earlier in his speech, the Board Chair, Prof. Malik promised to carry out the directives given by the Governor concerning the One Hundred and Fifty (150) intending pilgrims who could not perform the 2022 Hajj.

 

“Any of intending Oyo State pilgrims who could not perform the 2022 Hajj and wants to collect his/her money back would be given the money in full without any deduction ”  Malik stated.

 

The Chairman added that “all those who wants to use their money for the 2023 Hajj would be the first to be considered for the exercise and would not make any additional payment to what they have already paid.

He noted that it has become a tradition of the present Board to refund excess money to the States’ pilgrims since the inception of the present Administration in the State for Hajj Operation.

 

“After deduction of all the charges for the various services rendered to those performed the 2022 Hajj with the Board, the Board has refunded the sum of Thirty-Seven Million, Nine Hundred and Nine Thousand, Three Hundred and Five Naira, Sixty-Six Kobo (#37,909,556.66) to those performed the 2022 Hajj with the Board in which each of them received a sum of Sixty-two Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty-Six Naira, Sixty One Kobo”. He explained.

 

In another development, the Chairman later disclosed that the Board has fixed the sum of Two Million, Six Hundred Thousand Naira (#2.6 Million) as the initial deposit for the 2023 Hajj Fare.

 

” Intending pilgrims for the 2023 Hajj exercise can now start paying the amount into any of the designated bank accounts of the Board”. He concluded.
