Oyo State Pilgrims’ Board, Muslim clerics prays for Nigeria’s participation in Hajj 2022

The Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) has organized special prayer to seek Allah’s favour and mercy to make it possible for Nigerian Pilgrims to perform this year’s Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

The prayer was held on Thursday 17th of February, 2022 at the Board’s Olodo office in Ibadan, Oyo State.

 

In his address, the Chairman of the Board Prof. Sayed Tunde Malik said that since the beginning of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Oyo State Pilgrims Board members and some Muslim clerics have been offering prayers, seeking Allah’s intervention to bring an end to the pandemic.  He added that the special prayer was in response to the call by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on all State Pilgrims Boards/Commissions to seek Allah’s intervention to make it possible for the foreign intending pilgrims to perform the Hajj this year.

 

He appealed to the ‘Ulama’ to continue to pray for peace in Nigeria and for the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde so that Allah may continue to strengthen him and guide him aright in all his undertakings.

 

The ‘Ulama’ who participated in the special prayer are Imam Habibullahi Buhari, Imam Ma’mun Elesinmeta, Imam Muqadam Abdul Jeleel Baasunu, Imam Musbaudeen Hamzat, Imam Babatunde Suara Haruna and Imam Rasheed Azeez, the S. A. to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.

 

The Board members in attendance are, Dr. Ibrahim Adebolu, Alhaji Akorede Abdulahi Babatunde, Alhaj Abdul Mojeed Lanase, Alhaj Rasheed O. Yusuf, Alhaj Akinwumi Mojeed, Alhaj Rahman Abubakri Agbotomokekere, Alhaj Jimoh Fatai Ayelabogo, Alhaj Thoir Akorede Rufai and Alhajah Simiat Ogundiran.
