Ramadan: No COVID-19 vaccine no Umrah, Saudi Hajj Ministry warns foreign pilgrims

The Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued a circular, informing foreign Hajj operators and travel agencies licensed to provide Umrah services that no pilgrim will perform Umrah without evidence of taking COVID-19 vaccine.
In the circular, signed by Deputy Minister for Umrah Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahim Wazzan, the ministry said the directive is in accordance with the instructions issued and in implementation of the precautionary measures for the blessed month of Ramadan.
The circular said foreign pilgrims would not be allowed to enter the Two Holy Mosques for prayer, Umrah, or visit except for those who are immune.

He circular therefore, stated that a pilgrim must prove immunization against Corona with a vaccination document approved by a government authority in the country of the pilgrim and the authorities competent in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“We received from the shrine of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah through the electronic notification system the following circular:
“Respected Saudi Umrah companies
Gentlemen, travel agents licensed to provide Umrah services outside the Kingdom, respected people Peace, mercy and blessings of God.
“We would like to note that according to the instructions issued and in implementation of the precautionary measures for the blessed month of Ramadan, it will not be allowed to enter the Two Holy Mosques for prayer, Umrah, or visit except for those who are immune.
“Therefore it must be noted that overseas pilgrims must prove immunization against Corona covid-19 with a vaccination document approved by a government authority in the country of the pilgrim and the authorities Competent in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” it reads in parts.
