Saudi Arabia bans LNG cooking fuel at Holy Sites during Hajj 2019

Penalties will be levied on violators using LNG as a cooking fuel, and no exceptions will be made, Minister of Interior confirms

LNG cooking fuel will be banned during Hajj at Saudi’s Holy Sites.

Saudi Arabia has banned the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a cooking fuel within its Holy Sites during Hajj 2019 (Islamic year 1440), with Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, calling for the application of legal procedures and penalties against violators.

Director-general of Civil Defense, Lt Gen Suleiman Al-Omro, said the ban on LNG was within the framework of the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to ensure the safety of pilgrims performing their rituals at the Holy Sites.

The LNG ban covers buildings, government camps, and charitable agencies’ structures within the Holy Sites, with no exceptions to be made, according to Saudi Arabia’s state news agency, SPA.
