Second batch of 560 Kwara pilgrims airlifted to Saudi Arabia

The second batch of 560 intending Pilgrims from Kwara state have been airlifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from Ilorin Airport.

 

The pilgrims departed the airport on board Max Airline at about 2:49 pm Sunday afternoon.

 

Out of the total 560 Intending Pilgrims, 552 are from Kwara, 7 from Ekiti and 1 from Ondo state.

 

The departure was witnessed by the 2022 Kwara Amirul Hajj, Dr Awwal Ibrahim and Executive Secretary of the state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Barrister Abdulganiyu Ahmed.

 

Speaking shortly before the departure of the intending pilgrims, the Kwara Amirul Hajj, Dr Ibrahim advised the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and the country while in the holy land.

 

In a remark, the Executive Secretary of Kwara state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abdulganiyu Ahmed urged the intending pilgrims to use the period to pray for the restoration of lasting peace in the state and the country in general.

 

A total of 1,112 intending Pilgrims have so far been airlifted to Saudi Arabia to perform the 2022 Hajj from Kwara state.
