Sierra Leone set 24th April Deadline for Pilgrim’s Registration

Sierra Leone’s astute Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E Alhaji Ibrahim Jalloh has said in Freetown that the deadline for all intending pilgrims to perform the fifth pillar of Islam, to the Holy Land of Mecca is 24th April 2020.

He encouraged all intending pilgrims to register now at the Ministry of Social Welfare so that they will fast-track all the necessary arrangement for this year’s pilgrimage to Mecca.

Ambassador Alhaji Ibrahim Jalloh was addressing a one-day consultative conference on this year’s pilgrimage to Mecca, held at the conference hall of the Ministry of Social Welfare. The seminar attracted various stakeholders in the Hajj program including officials of the Ministry of Social Welfare, members of the National Hajj Committee and some Hajj Agents.

He said in order to have a successful hajj, Pilgrims should first register early, adding that by June 22 this year all pilgrims will start entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Ambassador Jalloh thanked members of the National Hajj Committee for a well-organized and coordinated 2019 Hajj and hope that this year’s Hajj will be more successful than last year.

He announced that the Saudi Government has this year introduced a thirty United States dollars as a health insurance policy for all pilgrims throughout their stay in Mecca and Medina.
