Barring any unforeseen hitches, 2018 hajj excellence award will takes place on Thursday 18th of April in Abuja to honour hajj families that excelled in different ways during the 2018 hajj operations. The event is being organised by Independent Hajj Reporters, a civil society organizations and an umbrella body of journalists that monitors and reports hajj and Umrah activities in Nigeria.

Kogi state governor shove other Governors aside to emerge hajj governor of the year owing to his proactive and the performance of Kogi State Muslim Pilgrims Board during 2018 hajj. Adamawa States Muslim Pilgrims Welfare boards is to receive an award for having the best accommodation in Makkah during 2018 hajj exercise while Executive Director of Katsina State Pilgrims board clinch the most hardworking state executive secretary. Omosa travel, Habdat travels and Mabush Ashirin air services ltd emerges best tour operators in Abuja, Lagos and Kano zone respectively.

 

The Deputy leader of the senate,  Senator Bala Ibn NA Allah will be recognized for his diligent contribution towards the establishment of NAHCON Act 2006, The Chairman Senate committee on foreign affairs, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu and her counterpart in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nnena Ukeje will be honoured for their outstanding services to hajj operations.

 

Though, hajj is an act of ibadah and the utmost rewards comes from Almighty Allah.  The purposes of identifying and appreciating excellence in hajj operations are to activate the spirit of competitiveness in serving pilgrims. To shows appreciation to those that excel in order to motivates others to toe the same path.

The most critical elements in assessing success of hajj is the welfare of pilgrims. The easiness in which pilgrims performs their fundamental religious obligations with utmost aim of attaining hajj mabrur (acceptable hajj). The complexities in managing pilgrims movements and boarding system is hinged on the fact that we have over 4 million people from over 78 countries doing the same thing at the same time and in the same city with the same  aim of doing it well to pleased his creator.

In view of the above, It is imperative that an appreciation be extended to those who might have done creditably well in providing comfort for Nigeria pilgrims.
