Hand in hand, just as they were less than a year ago, in a similar scene on a wedding night. They get off the bus that took them from Jeddah to Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and arrive at the pilgrims ’residence at the Fourpoint Hotel in the Holy Capital. “Mohamed” and “Heba” from Eritrea, born and lived in the Kingdom, and here they are performing Hajj for the first time this year.
“I never planned for this,” Muhammad says. “I was following what was going on, and when registration became available, I said to myself why not?”
The engineer, who works for a technology company in Riyadh, continues: “I did not expect that the response would come to me. The number was limited, as announced, and my wife and I became part of this number.”
Muhammad walks a little, and passes the temperature check before his wife, and after that time, he refers to his wife, the companion of the journey, who expressed her joy: “We are performing the first pilgrimage in the first year of our marriage, as if it is a gift of our association. I feel very happy without being able to describe it. ”
Heba adds: “My parents are very happy, for the first time in Hajj, I didn’t tell them about applying, maybe I didn’t expect me to be chosen, I told them later when I and Muhammad were chosen for Hajj.”
Organized procedures, which the couple went through before reaching the hotel elevator, and before they went up, Muhammad initiates: “Everything is easy for us, we did not take more than 10 minutes to get off the bus and get here, through all the procedures.”
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had begun to receive pilgrims from residents and citizens starting on the fourth day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, and until the eighth day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah, where they would all stay in a Hotel located about 4km to Mina.
