Reflections on the Impact of an Amazon

The 10th of March 2023 marked the date on which Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Mustapha the director of library Services, and former deputy director of information and publications joined the league of senior citizens as she attained 35 years of meritorious service to the nation and especially to the hajj industry.

Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Mustapha Started her Career in March 1988 as an Assistant Information Officer with the Borno State Ministry of Home Affairs and Information, barely six months later she was posted to Government House Maiduguri as a Protocol Officer where she worked with the wives of three Governors, Late Col Lawan Maina, Late Brigadier Abdu One Muhammad and the wife of present DG NDLEA Brigadier Gen Buba Marwa now late.

In 2007 She transferred her service to the Federal civil service where she headed the Corporate Affairs Division at National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) and thereafter joined the Hajj Industry where she headed the Information and Publications Division and then Library Services before she retired as a full Director.

Hajiya Fatima Mustapha retired after an illustrious service-oriented career with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria. As we celebrate her departure, we cannot help but feel a sense of sadness knowing that we will no longer have her wise counsel and sense of inspiration in our departments

Hajiya Fatima has been an integral part of NAHCON for many years, and her contributions have been invaluable. As a female leader, she has shattered stereotypes and set an example for women in the commission. Her determination and unwavering commitment to excellence has inspired all those that she has worked with.

Her kindness and compassion have always been at the forefront of her leadership style. She has taken the time to get to know each member of her team and the staff especially the female ones on a personal level, thereby making sure that we feel valued and supported by our seniors.

Her intentions are never mischievous. Throughout her tenure, Hajiya Fatima has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, serving as a mentor and role model, She has always been willing to lend a listening ear, offer advice, and guide through difficult situations. Her unwavering support and encouragement have helped us to grow both personally and professionally.

Hajiya Fatima’s impact on NAHCON goes far beyond her job description. She has helped to create a culture of respect, inclusivity, and teamwork, where every member of the team feels valued and supported. Her legacy will live on long after she departs, and we will always be grateful for the positive impact she has had on our organization.

Hajiya Fatima to us is a mentor, a mother, a sister and a confidant. Her door has always been open to us, She challenged us to be our best selves and  celebrated successes with us along the way.

As we bid farewell to Hajiya Fatima, we wish her all the best in her retirement. We know that she will continue to make a difference in the lives of those around her, and we hope that she will stay in touch with us and visit us often. We will miss her dearly, but we are grateful for the time we have had with her, and we will always hold her in the highest regard.

We thank Hajiya Fatima Mustapha for everything she has done for us. She will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we wish her all the best in her retirement and beyond.
