Umrah Ban: Umrah Operators records low patronage

As a result of the outbreak of coronavirus, Hajj and Umrah tour operators especially those in Kano record low patronage as effects of the ban affects umrah industry worldwide.

 

HAJJ  REPORTERS monitored the activities at some travelling agencies in Kano city reported that before the ban, offices of such agencies are always busy with intending Umrah pilgrims.

 

Since the authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the ban on Umrah pilgrimage due to the fear of the spread of coronavirus, most of the tour operators visited admitted that they are now operating at lowest patronage level.

 

Some of the tour operators disclosed to HAJJ REPORTERS  that ” whenever there is an outbreak of a disease, we often encountered such set back because most countries usually banned visitors into their countries. “. They lamented.

 

An Umrah pilgrims Malam Umar Musa said he usually travelled to Umrah every year in the last 35 years. He admitted that he has to forget about travelling to Umrah this year until the situation improves.
