UPDATE: Gombe gets 1,005 Hajj slots, to begins pilgrims orientations soon

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has allocated a total number of 1,005 hajj seats  to Gombe state for the 2022 hajj exercise.

 

The Executive Secretary of the Gombe state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Sa’adu Hassan Adamu disclosed this during a meeting with the local governments Hajj officers from the 11 local government areas of the state at the board’s conference hall.

 

In a meeting attended by the management staff the board, Alh. Adamu also intimates the Local government Hajj officers on the activities and preparation for this year hajj, explaining that education and orientation for the intending Pilgrims is expected to start immediately after the Eil-El-Fitr Celebration.

 

Alh Adamu further said that the cost of  Hajj fare is projected to go upward due to the current economic realities and advised the depositors ensure that their deposit is up to two million five hundred thousand Naira (N2,500,000:00) before NAHCON officially announced 2022 hajj fare.

 

“Every intending Pilgrim must take first and second dose of COVID -19 vaccination as well as the Booster jab to be able to take part in the Hajj exercise, and PCR test will be conducted 72 hours before departure and people above 65 years of age will not be allow to partake in this year’s  pilgrimage , He added.
