World Hajj and Umrah Convention pledges stronger ties with NAHCON

The World Hajj and Umrah Convention (WHUC),a global body that promotes and ensures smooth Hajj and Umrah operations has pledged to strengthen its ties with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), and the Nigerian Hajj and Umrah fraternity.
This was revealed to Independent Hajj Reporters on Thursday by the Chairman of WHUC, Mohsin Tutla after he meet with the leadership of the commission in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Mr Tutla said WHUC is embarking “on a new era towards quintessential reforms towards adding greater value to the Nigerian Pilgrimage, making the Pilgrim experience better, cheaper, more fulfilling”.

Speaking further, the Chairman said his team is currently focussed on developing “a healthier Hajj and Umrah eco system”.

He added that this is achieveable hrough the collective input of a global body of professionals dedicated to their craft.

“We will be developing a fully fledged team in Abuja with offices in Lagos and Kano, working closely in areas of education, technological advancements in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and MAQAM GDS Systems,” he said.

Mr Tutla also said the WHUC in conjunction with other Hajj stakeholders Will bring forward the best initiatives from around the World and introduce them to intending pilgrims in conjunction with NAHCON, “opening up our global relationships and insights to benefit from”.

Speaking specifically on his meeting with NAHCON Management’s the WHUC chairman said they discussed about true partnership building on the existing relationship build over a decade.

” Our ties were originally formalised by Honorable Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, former NAHCON Chairman and former Chairman Honorable Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar.

“Our support shall extend to individual states with the aim of having Nigeria shine on the global stage for its administrative excellence,” he said.

He also revealed that NAHCON Chairman Al Hajj Zikrullah Hassan conveyed his commitment towards the articles of the World Hajj and Umrah Convention and introduced the new board of directors with their remits and responsibilities to WHUC.

he also said the new NAHCON boss shares his vision on building upon the standards set upon by his predecessor and to inspire the Nigerian Pilgrimage to greater heights.

“Hajj People and the WHUC will form strategic partnerships in Nigeria to present qualified and quality programmes to support ongoing development.

“It was an important meeting as we availed the opportunity to formally congratulate the president, Chairman of the National Hajj Commission, understanding full well the challenges, optimism and expectations this new administration is to embark on.

“To convey our sincerest well wishes not only to individuals, but to the institutions that took responsibility of Pilgrimage affairs as a Goventment since the 1960’s,” he said.

Mr Tua also said WHUC is undertaking a recruitment process in Nigeria which aims to bring “qualified talent to bridge our international expertise and translate it into actionable deliverables”.

“We understand that health, safety and security of Nigerian Pilgrims is paramount and taking in light the impact of Corona Virus as a possible pandemic, we will work with authorities and organisations in Saudi Arabia to increase connectivity and the speed which NAHCON can reach or communicate with its Pilgrims,” he said.
