Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has promised to pay seven hundred and twenty (720) Saudi riyals hadya package for each  intending pilgrim from the state.

Radda also pledged to give out the usual Sallah package to the state pilgrims at the holy land.

Governor Dikko Radda announced this while inaugurating an 11-member state delegation to this year’s Hajj under the leadership of the former state deputy governor, Alhaji Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi.

The governor directed both the Hajj delegation and the management of the pilgrim’s welfare board to ensure that not a single Kobo is deducted from the Basic Traveling Allowance (BTA) of the pilgrims for any reason.

He expressed happiness that despite all the challenges as a result of the increase in Hajj fare the intending pilgrims from the state were able to make up the payment.

According to him, the state delegation has the mandate of overseeing the general conduct of the Hajj operations from beginning to an end.

This, he said, was in addition to complementing the management of the pilgrim’s welfare board towards ensuring smooth and successful Hajj exercise.

Radda further charged the delegation to produce a comprehensive report on the general conduct of the Hajj operations, including lapses and successes, with a view for improvement in future exercises.

In an acceptance speech, the Chairman of the team, Alhaji Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, expressed gratitude to the state governor for finding them fit to serve the state pilgrims.

Alhaji Tukur Jikamshi promised to work hand-in-hand with the officials of the pilgrim’s board in ensuring that state pilgrims enjoy the best services.

This is contained in a statement issued by Malam Badaru Bello Karofi, the public relations officer of the board in Katsina.
