The Katsina State Government has warned intending pilgrims ahead of the 2024 Hajj exercise against illicit drug trafficking and traveling with other prohibited items to the holy land.

The Executive Director of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Yunusa Abdullahi Dankama stated this on Thursday in Katsina.

Dankama said the board has registered 2,600 intending pilgrims in the state for the 2014 Hajj exercise, adding that the State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda remained committed to ensuring a hitch-free exercise for the state pilgrims.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the Executive Director revealed that the board had come up with a programme to educate the intending pilgrims on the needs for a successful hajj exercise.

While noting that the intending pilgrims will be educated on the Saudi Arabian rules for pilgrims, Dankama said the State Government will sponsor Islamic preachers and guides from each of the 34 Local Government Areas of the state to support the intending pilgrims. https://c7978ddd309211463c1e3b2d722bb03b.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-40/html/container.html
