Hajj 2023: Niger State Pilgrims’ Board begins registration, fix N2.5 million Hajj fare deposit

The Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the registration of the 2023 Hajj exercise.

 

The Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai stated this in Minna during interaction on the 2023 #Hajj exercise with Local Government Chairmen, Board members and APWO’s

Makun Lapai who said the Board has already allocated 2265 seats for the 2023 Hajj exercise, mentioned that each pilgrim is expected to pay N2.5 million as a minimum deposit pending the outcome of the pronouncement of final hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission.

 

“The sum of 2.5 million Naira is the minimum deposit through a certified bank draft with the necessary information of the intending Pilgrims written at the back of the draft to avoid swapping”. added Makun Lapai

“We used 2022 seat allocation pending when the NAHCON will give us our full allocation”.

 

“Forms have been distributed to Area Pilgrims Welfare officers in accordance with the existing policies of the Pilgrims Board ”

 

He further said all the APWO’s across all the 25 Local Government Areas of Niger State have been directed to commence registration and mobilization of intending Pilgrims in their respective areas.

 

 

Maku who urged pilgrims’ officers across the State on dedication and honesty in the cause of carrying out their activities during the Hajj exercise, however, assured intending Pilgrims of the state Government’s desire to ensure their airlift from Minna International Airport
