Bangladesh begins Hajj and Umrah conference Thursday


Bangladesh hajj body has announced that the International Hajj and Umrah fair will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital from November 17.


Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the program virtually at 10:00am. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan, State minister for civil aviation and tourism Md Mahbub Ali, Saudi envoy to Dhaka and top other officials will join the conference.


M Shahadat Hossain Taslim, President of Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) revealed the information in a press conference on Tuesday (November 15).


He said, in the past, there were various errors, irregularities and mismanagement in the management of Hajj. But, with the efforts of the current government and the HAAB, changes and discipline have returned to Hajj management.


HAAB senior vice president Maulana Yakub Sharafati, general secretary Faruk Ahmed Sardar and others attended the press briefing.
