In preparation for the 2023 Hajj exercise, Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGSMPWB) sought synergy with Stakeholders in the Hajj Operation to sustain the tempo of excellent performance and to achieve a seamless exercise in the coming year.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda made the call during a meeting with the stakeholders at the Board’s Secretariat Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying all hands must be on deck to achieve this feat.

Salau urged them to keep the ball rolling by being proactive and projecting the image of the Board in a good light while commending their efforts for the success recorded in the last Hajj exercise despite the short notice given by the Saudi Arabia authority.

He admonished them to embrace and adequately publicize Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS), which would serve as the opportunity for other Muslim faithful to partake in the holy pilgrimage, as this year’s exercise will be operated both on the Hajj Saving Scheme and Pay As You Go option.

“I want to sincerely appreciate you for being supportive to the board, without your efforts and that of the Board, we wouldn’t have achieved a seamless and hitch-free exercise, we were recognized and given an award of Excellence even letters of commendation were given, despite the short period we used for the preparation. I am now using this medium to appeal to you to continue giving necessary support”, He said.

Salau noted that the country is operating a cashless policy, and as a result, frowned at the habit of carrying cash about, he encouraged the intending pilgrims to purchase Bank drafts for their safety, assuring that the government led by Prince Dapo Abiodun through the Board would not rest on its oars in putting all necessary machineries in place to make the next year Hajj a considerable success.

Speaking, the Chairman of the Team, Alhaji Nurudeen  Matanmi, appreciated the Board for their zeal and passion for the welfare of the Intending pilgrims, promising to continue supporting the Board to achieve its set objectives and goals.
