Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state has dissolved the board and management of the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare board.
This is coming days after the commencement of the 2023 Hajj.
A highly placed source who spoke to HAJJ REPORTERS on Sunday said although the dissolution affects the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Ali Mallam Bukar, the Governor has allowed the ES to oversee this year’s operations.
“Yes, the board has been dissolved but the Governor said the ES can travel to Saudi Arabia to oversee the affairs of the state pilgrims because all the arrangements and plans had been put in place under him.
“He will hand over the affairs of the board immediately he returns from Hajj,” the source revealed.
