Wealthy Muslims urged to pay Zakat for the needy

The Director General, Kaduna State Bureau of Interfaith  Malam Tahir Umar Tahir, made the call when the Zakkat and Wakaf Foundation visited Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency in Kaduna.

 

Tahir Umar Tahir explained that every Muslim has the role to play in helping the less privileged, but wealthy people must bring out their Zakkat as one of the compulsory five pillars of Islam.

 

He noted that the process of giving and distribution of Zakkat would alleviate poverty in the society.

 

The Secretary General of the Zakkat and Wakaf Foundation, Kaduna State, Imam Nuruddeen Muhammad Mujaheed, explained that they visited agency to brief it on the foundation’s activities and raise public awareness.

 

Muhammad Mujaheed highlighted some of the achievements gained and ensured that they would do everything possible to enlighten wealthy people about the importance of giving out Zakkat to the poor.

 

Responding, the Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Dr Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu, expressed satisfaction over the work of the Zakkat and Wakaf Foundation, assuring them that the agency would include this to intending pilgrims during sensitisation programmes.

 

Yusuf Arrigasiyyu promised to support the activities of the foundation for the benefit of needy and society at large.
