Hajj 2023: Registration for domestic pilgrims begins today

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has added another category called ‘Economic 2’ to the categories of Saudi nationals and resident foreigners performing Hajj from within the Kingdom.


Under this category, Hajj pilgrims will be given accommodation outside Mina and their selection for Hajj will not be by lottery.


According to Akaz newspaper, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is going to start the registration for pilgrims from within the country for the new Hajj season 2023 from today August 28 (1st Safar).


According to the newspaper, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah held a meeting with the representatives of the Liaison Council of Organizations that perform Hajj to Saudis and expatriates from within the country and the representatives of the ‘Halul al-Amal’ (Business Solutions) platform, in which they discussed the registration procedure. went


The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is making preparations for the upcoming Hajj season. All arrangements are desired to be completed before the start of the season.


The Ministry says that in the new Hajj season, another category will be added called ‘Economic 2’. Under this, Haj pilgrims will be accommodated in buildings outside the Mani Valley. Pilgrims under this category will be able to register directly with the Internal Pilgrims Institution. 25 percent quota will be for pilgrims above 65 years of age.


According to the proposed procedure, the Hajj package fee has to be paid in two installments. The first installment must be submitted within 72 hours of registration, while the second installment must be paid by December 24, 2022 (30 Jamadi Al-Awwal 1444 AH).


The report said that the collected amount of the Hajj package will be transferred to the internal teachers from 23 January 2023 (1 Rajab 1444 AH).


The amount of the package will be transferred to the internal teacher to whom the Ministry of Hajj will give Hajj quota in the same proportion.
