For ease of its operation and the welfare of all intending pilgrims, arrangements are underway to build a first-class permanent Hajj transit camp for intending pilgrims in Osun State.

The Chairman of the Osun State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Moruf Ishola disclosed this at the end of a four-week sensitisation and orientation course organised for would-be pilgrims from the state to the year 2024 Hajj operations in Makkah and Madina.

Meanwhile, in his closing address at the ceremony, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Aderibigbe Rasheed, congratulated the would-be pilgrims for being counted worthy and fit to be part of the Osun delegation to perform this year’s hajj.

While imploring them to put into practice all they have learnt during the one-month sensitisation and orientation programmes organised by the Board, Aderibigbe also advised them to shun all vices capable of bringing the image and reputation of the state into disrepute while in the Holy Land.

“My recent visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia gave me confidence and assurance that pilgrims from Osun State would have the best of pilgrimage this year because of what I met on ground during the visit in terms of feeding arrangements and good accommodations already in place.”

The Commissioner lauded the state governor, Ademola Adeleke for giving the welfare of the intending pilgrims the best of consideration and priority.

“While in the holy journey, remember the State Governor, his family members, members of the State Executive Council and the people of the State at large in your prayers,” he charged.
