Bauchi Local Hajj Affairs Officers Tasked on efficient services

The Local Government Hajj affairs officers in Bauchi State has been tasked to redouble their efforts on providing services to the state’s intending pilgrims.

The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alh. Abubakar Babangida Tafida (Tafidan Giade) made the appeal during an interactive session with the Hajj officers in his office, charged them to contribute their best in making Bauchi State great in terms of welfare to pilgrims .

He noted that the kingdom of Saudi Arabia did not pronounce a total cancellation of 2020 Hajj but rather severely limit attendance to the sacred gathering only to some muslims currently residing in their country to control the spread of COVID 19 pandemic.

Babangida Tafida called on the Hajj officers to create more awareness among the pilgrims regarding the pronouncement on this year’s Hajj by Saudi Arabia.

He emphasised that the Board has made necessary arrangements to commence refund of the 2020 Hajj deposits to depositors.

He added that all pilgrims are at the liberty to apply for the refund any time or leave the deposit against next year’s exercise.

Alhaji Tafida also disclosed that the registration of the 2021 intending pilgrims is expected to start at the end of July this year and expressed optimism that the 2021 excercise will be hectic on and would be on the basis of first come first serve.

He used the forum to call on all stakeholders for more support and cooperation to provide Welfare services to Pilgrims.
