Hajj 2023: Kaduna launches Hajj Payment Scheme, sets N1.5m fare deposit

Kaduna state has launched a Hajj payment scheme for Hajj 2023 intending pilgrims from the state.

 

The Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau Amb. Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli launched the scheme on Friday.

 

During the launching, the Executive Secretary of Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency Dr. Yusuf Yakubu Arrigasiyyu stated that intending pilgrims were to pay their fare through the collection of bank tellers from local government pilgrim officers and approach banks for the payment.

 

 

A statement by an aide of the Executive Secretary, Ibrahim Shehu Giwa said the least amount to be collected as the deposit is N1,500,000, adding however, that “intending pilgrims can pay up to N2,500,000 before the official announcement of the real amount for the 2023 Hajj”.

 

Dr. Arrigasiyyu further warned intending pilgrims against making payments to individuals rather than banks.

He added that the agency has improved its processes to guard against the “diversion of Hajj seats to few individuals”.

 

“This year, Nigeria has been allocated 95,000 #Hajj slots and all bans imposed last year have been lifted.

 

“We pray to Allah to make us part of the 2023 pilgrims.” The statement said.
