The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has assured Hajj 2023 intending pilgrims traveling from Kaduna State that there are adequate booklets for the provision of international passports for them.

The NIS says it is ready to ensure a hitch-free hajj pilgrimage this year, according to the Kaduna State Immigration Comptroller, Bashir Muhammad Lawal.

He made this known during a courtesy visit by the executive members of Independent Hajj Reporters to the Kaduna Command on Monday.

Lawal urged intending pilgrims from the state that there are enough booklets for the renewal and issuance of new international passports.

He also stated that the NIS is working tirelessly to address most of the challenges associated with passports and screening of pilgrims at the airports.

“The NIS is ever ready to work with Independent Hajj reporters and other stakeholders to ensure a hitch-free hajj exercise in the country but I will like to say that we have adequate booklets for passports,” he said.

Lawal commended the Executives of IHR for the visit and expressed readiness to collaborate with the group of journalists.

In his remarks, IHR National Coordinator Ibrahim Mohammed said they were at the command to pay solidarity visit to the Comptroller, whom he described as one of its members.

According to him, Nigerian pilgrims both within and in Saudi Arabia have benefited from the selfless service of the comptroller because he had been in the hajj operations for years before his recent appointment as comptroller.

He wished the new state comptroller success in his tenure and commended him for receiving the delegation with open arms.
