Inflation: Nigerian Hajj 2022 Pilgrims to pay N89, 000 for Hadayya (animal sacrifice), up from N40,000 in 2019

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has again appointed Jaiz Bank as the sole collecting agent of Haddaya (Compulsory animal sacrifice) payment for Hajj 2022 Nigerian pilgrims.

 

 

The commission in a letter to all the states, FCT and armed forces, which was seen by HAJJ REPORTERS had directed that “all intending pilgrims are to pay the sum of N89,383.50 through the states pilgrims board or at any JAIZ Bank branch close to them.

Pilgrims paid N40, 000 during Hajj 2019.

 

HAJJ REPORTERS reports that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj announced SR809:00 as the cost of performing Haddaya for 2022 Hajj, up from SR40,406  in 2019.

 

The document seen by HAJJ REPORTERS indicates that NAHCON has asked the states Muslim Pilgrims Boards to arrange for ‘bulk collection’ and remit same to Jaiz Bank.
