Kwara ES visits NAHCON Zonal Office

The newly appointed Executive Secretary of Kwara State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, has paid a familiarisation visit to the Ilorin Zonal Office of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). The office overseeing Hajj affairs in Kwara, Ondo and Ekiti States, is situated at the Hajj Camp in Ilorin.

 

Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir stated that he was not in board to make money, but to serve humanity with the fear of Allah. He solicited for prayers and support from the staff, all Hajj officials and other stakeholders to enable him succeed in discharging the given task.

 

He commended Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq for considering him fit for the position to serve the state and all servants of Allah. The executive secretary also pledged to serve with the fear of Allah and fairness to all intending pilgrims from the state.

 

“I am not in the board to make money, but to serve humanity with the fear of Allah. I equally request all to pray to Almighty Allah to protect and guide me aright,” said Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir.

 

While describing his appointment as a gift from Allah, he thanked the NAHCON zonal officials for the warm reception.

 

Responding, the NAHCON Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Agboola Fijabi, expressed delight over the visit and prayed for a robust working relationship. He pledged to cooperate with the new board scribe to deliver satisfactory Hajj services.

 

Alhaji Ibrahim Agboola Fijabi however said that the policy of ‘first come first serve’ was still enforce and advised the board to follow due process and guides from the commission.

 

According to him, intending pilgrims who missed last year’s operation could meet up with their balances for this year, if they were still interested.

 

The zonal coordinator sought to know how far the Kwara Muslims Pilgrims Board had gone with the 2022 refunds and total number of affected intending pilgrims from the state that couldn’t meet up witn deadli e for paymeng of their Hajj fares.
