Nigeria has appointed JAIZ Bank as its official collector for Hadayah (Animal sacrifice) for its 95,000 pilgrims scheduled to perform this year’s hajj.

This is part of the continuing reforms in the hajj sub-sector embarked upon by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), the country’s apex hajj regulatory.

The policy is geared towards ensuring that all intending pilgrims achieve a Hajj Mabrur, the commission said in a statement on Tuesday.

The agreement was signed by the management of JAIZ Bank and NAHCON at a brief ceremony chaired by commission’s Commissioner in charge of Policy,

Personnel Management and Finance, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf Adebayo, represented the chairman and chief executive officer of the commission, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammed.

Mr Adebayo expressed hope that the bank will discharge the assignment with fear of Allah and great sense of responsibility as it represents an act of the hajj rites.

The Managing Director/CEO JAIZ Bank, Malam Hassan Usman expressed appreciation of the bank to the Board and Management of NAHCON for the trust and confidence accorded to the Bank with this onerous task of Hadayah collection for the 2017 Hajj exercise.
