The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for Umrah Affairs, Abdul Rahman Shams, confirmed today (Tuesday) that the ministry has started working with approved agents in various countries in preparation for receiving pilgrims from outside the Kingdom.
He explained, during a telephone interview on the Al-Akhbariya channel, that the reservation mechanism for pilgrims from outside the Kingdom is through approved agents, and the arrival will be through groups and not individuals, stressing that the “Umrah” application is only intended for pilgrims from inside the Kingdom.
He emphasized that many attempts were discovered to pass incorrect information and fake applications to deceive pilgrims, and direct communication has been made with the concerned authorities to report them.
He pointed out that since the start of the second phase of the gradual return of Umrah, the number of pilgrims has reached 45,000 and 120,000 worshipers.
