Following the sudden announcement of the upward review of this year’s Hajj by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has called on intending pilgrims to pay their balance before or on March 28th.

The call was made by the Director General of the board, Alhaji Laminu Rabi’u Danbappa, during an emergency meeting with Centre Officers of the 44 Local Government areas, held in his office on Monday.

According to the spokesman, the DG, at the meeting, announced that intending pilgrims who had paid N4,699,000 should balance N1,918,032.91, adding that those who paid N4,500,000 must balance N2,117,032.91, bringing the total Hajj fare for the first category to 6,617,032.91.

Additionally, fresh intending pilgrims are required to pay N8,254,464.74 as the full Hajj fare for this year.

Danbappa explained that the payment of the balance, or new Hajj fare must be completed before or on 28th March at 12:00 noon.

The DG emphasized that failure to balance or pay the new registration fee before or on the deadline would result to exclusion from this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

The Director General charged the 44 Local Government Hajj Centre officers to demonstrate dedication to their duties during the critical period of finalizing Hajj fares for all intending pilgrims in the state.

“He emphasized the importance of meticulous record-keeping in all dealings with intending pilgrims.

“Finally, he expressed sincere appreciation to the management staff of the board for their dedication in collecting the bank drafts,” he concluded.
