Hajj 2019: No Amirul Hajj Committee for Borno- Governor Zulum

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has said that there will be no Amirul Hajj for Borno state contingent to Hajj 2019.

 

The Governor said the decision was to avoid ”duplication and conflict of duties” between the Amirul Hajj committee and the state pilgrims welfare board which has the sole responsibility for the coordination of Hajj affairs.

 

Governor Zullum made the announcement on Friday in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital while inaugurating the chairman and members of the Borno State pilgrims welfare board.

 

The board, which has twelve (12) members is headed by Sheikh Arabi Abulfatahi.

 

The Governor also called on the chairman and members of the board to operate within the ambits of the law.

 

He also charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them and ensure that pilgrims are treated well in the holy land.

 

In another development Governor Zullum has charged pilgrims from Borno state to be law abiding and conduct themselves in an orderly and disciplined manner while in the holy land.
The Governor had earlier declared open a two day retreat for the management staff of the board by hosted by the Oriental energy resource Ltd.e

He also inspected an air plane hanger constructed by Alh. Muhammadu Indimi at the Maiduguri international airport as well a 777 clinic where he directed for the expansion and provision of more medical equipment to the clinic.
