We remitted N304million to NAHCON for 2020 Hajj – FCT Muslim Pilgrims’ Board

The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has clarified how much it remitted to NAHCON in compliance with the apex hajj regulatory body directives for states Muslim pilgrim’s boards to transfer pilgrims deposit to NAHCON as stipulated by law.

 

A terse statement signed by the Public Relations officer of the board, Alh Aliyu stated that “NAHCON mistakenly omitted the Board from the list of states that complied with NAHCON’s directive to remit money to the Commission”.

The statement said “The attention of the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has been drawn to publications on social media and some National Dailies in which NAHCON inadvertently omitted the Board from the list of states that complied with NAHCON’s directive to remit money to the Commission. To put the record straight, the FCT MPWB remitted N304,978,890.00 (Three Hundred and Four Million, Nine Hundred and Seventy Eight Thousand, Eight Hundred and Ninety Naira) only in respect of 2020 Hajj which was refunded to the Board for onward refund to the Intending Pilgrims who might want to be refunded as directed by NAHCON”.

 

It added that the “Board has not received any correspondences directing it to make further remittances to NAHCON thereafter”
