Yusuf dissolves Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board, appoints new executive, members.

Two days to inaugural flight of Kano state intending pilgrims, Governor Abbas Kabiru Yusuf has announced immediate dissolution of the board members of the state pilgrim’s welfare board.

Subsequently, the new government announced the constitution of new board with Alh. Lamin Rabiu, a former executive secretary of the board returned as head.

Alh. Rabiu takes over immediately from Ambassador Abba Mohamamd Danbatta who was appointed by the former Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in 2018. The new board also have Alhaji Yusuf Lawan as Chairman.

Other member of the new board are Shiek Abbas Abubakar Daneji, Shiek Shehi Shehi Maihula, Amb. Munir Lawan, Shiek Isma’il Mangu, Hajia Aishatu Munir Matawalle and Dr. Sani Ashir.

The new appointment contained in statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa early Tuesday said the new board is expected to take over the affairs of the board  immediately to ensure successful 2023 Hajj operation.
