Hajj 2020: Katsina to commence payment of Refund

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari has approved the refunds of 2020 Hajj deposits paid by intending pilgrims from the state.

Executive director of the board Alhaji Suleiman Nuhu kuki stated this during a press briefing in his office today.

He said the Governor also approved that those wishing to leave their deposits as a roll-over against 2021 are free to do so, under a signed agreement between intending pilgrims and the Board which will be given priority of registration during the 2021 Hajj exercise.

The Executive Director further said the payment of the refunds of deposits to those who requested is to commence as soon as possible, adding that for those interested in rolling over their deposits should approach their respective zonal pilgrims’ officers to fill the agreement form.

Alhaji Suleiman Nuhu Kuki informed the members of the press that as at the closure of the 2020 Hajj deposits the board have a total of 1,539 intending pilgrims who registered and paid their deposits ranging from 300,000 to 1,500,000 against the 2020 Hajj operation.

“Like the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, the katsina state pilgrims welfare board as Muslims have accepted the Hajj 2020 cancellation by Saudi Authorities in good faith and absolute submission to the will of Allah” .

He thanked the state government for the tremendous support and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria for their guidance and the intending pilgrims for their understanding and cooperation in trying period.
