Press Release

Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has organised a special prayer to seek for Allah’s intervention in bringing an end to the Covid 19 pandemic preventing Muslim faithful from fulfilling the last pillar of Islam (Hajj) globally.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Salau Dauda, while addressing the Alfas during the special prayer session held at the Board’s mosque said the prayer was necessary in order to combat the pandemic and return of the Muslims performing the yearly hajj exercise in Nigeria and the entire world.

Salau noted that the Board had been offering series of prayers since the outbreak of the pandemic, saying that the special prayer is one of the series going on across the State by the League of Imams and Alfas in line with the National Prayer Session mandated by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

He further solicited for the cooperation of the Ulamas for continuous prayers so as to conquer the scourge of the pandemic.
