Ministry of Hajj and Umrah receives Indonesian pilgrims on Saturday following decision to resume international flights

JEDDAH: A group of pilgrims coming from Indonesia’s capital, Jakarta, arrived at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport on Saturday night, following the decision to lift the suspension of international flights and to open the land and sea entry points to the Kingdom.

Pilgrims will go from the airport directly to their accommodation, where they will spend a period of time in isolation before performing the pilgrimage.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah was keen to ensure a safe Umrah and thus raised the readiness of all Umrah services and companies in order to facilitate the pilgrims’ journey during their stay in the Kingdom. The decision to do so was in line with the directives of the government of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as well as the follow-up of Dr. Mohammed Saleh bin Taher Benten, minister of Hajj and Umrah.

The ministry called on pilgrims to adhere to the precautionary measures and guidelines to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from the moment of their arrival until their departure.
