TODAY IN HISTORY: IBN Battuta, the man who travels 117,000 km for the sake of Hajj
Ibn Battuta was born 24th February 1304
Ibn Battuta was born 24th February 1304 and started his travels in 1325 when he was 20 year old. His main reason for travel was to go on hajj to fulfill the pillar of Islam.
He later continued his journey for 29 years and covered about 75,000 miles (117,000 km ) visiting the equivalents of 44 countries with the support of the government of Muslim Leaders of the World.
