University dons, Islamic Scholars bag awards as Hajj Crescent honour founding members

It was an atmosphere of sharing Hajj memories on Saturday night at Stone Hedge Hotels in Kaduna when founding members of Hajj Crescent Initiatives convened to appreciates it’s founding members that has contributed to the activities of HCI throughout the years.

Hajj Crescent Initiative is an NGO registered in 2009 with the aim of providing welfare packages for pilgrims, assisting in enlighten pilgrims, provision of medical and health facilities to the intending pilgrims particularly pilgrims from Kaduna zone.

The Association presently operates in Bauchi, Jigawa, Kano, Sokoto and the FCT, with efforts put it place to cover all Northern states, and the country as a whole.

 

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Association, Barrister Ado Ali explained that awards were presented to some members, due to their immense contributions to the successful conduct of Hajj operations over the years.

 

He maintained that the event will henceforth be held annually, so as to continue to motivate members to do more.

Late Dr Muhammad Bello, was given a posthumous award for being the pioneer Chief Medical Coordinator of Hajj Crescent Initiatives and for serving Nigerian pilgrims at state and federal.

 

Professor Ismail Shehu of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria received an Award for his contribution to pilgrims enlightments especially during his days at FRCN and as founding members of Hajj Crescent Initiatives.

 

Dr Usman Muhammad Makarfi, the current commissioner of Education in Kaduna State was also honoured. Dr Usman Makarfi has been a prominent and member of Kaduna States Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards Medical service team and later NAHCON Medical team. He is also a founding members of HCI.

 

 

An Islamic Scholar, Dr Muhammad Tukur Al Mannar, Dr Ishaq Yunus Al Madany were also recognized for their role is service to Nigeria pilgrims as well as founding members of Hajj Crescent Initiatives.

 

 

A Deputy Comptroller of Immigration, Bashir M. Lawal who is also a prominent member of HCI received an award for his excellent services to Nigeria pilgrims.

 

 

 

Dr Aliyu Abubakar Tanko, the Coordinator of Hajj Saving Scheme project in NAHCON is also a founding member of HCI, Dr Tanko was given an award for his selfless service to Nigeria Pilgrims.

 

 

 

Dr Attahiru Abdullahi, Professor Aliyu Mamman and Dr Suleiman Umar  received an awards of excellence.
