Hajj registration deadline extended again

The government of Pakistan has once again extended the deadline for hajj registration until 16 April considering the outbreak of coronavirus across the globe, reports UNB.

The religious affairs ministry issued a notice in this regard on Wednesday.

The government also asked agencies concerned to refrain from withdrawing money for hajj purposes without the approval of the ministry.

The hajj registration process started in the country on 2 March.

On 25 March, the government extended the deadline for hajj registration until 8 April considering the virus pandemic.

This year, 137,198 people are scheduled to go to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj. Of them, 17,198 will go under government management.
