The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, said the agency has embraced the Hajj Saving Scheme (HSS) to strengthen Hajj and Umrah operations in the state.

Consequently, Imam Ibrahim Idris said the board held an interactive session with the Management of Jaiz Bank working in Bauchi State.

Speaking during the opening of the session, he said the session is a deliberate effort to discuss issues regarding the commencement for implementation of the HSS ahead of this year’s exercise.

He explained that National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in conjunction with the State Pilgrims Boards/Agencies and the Jaiz Bank unanimously agreed to commence the enrollment of 60 per cent of 2020/2021 prospective Hajj depositors under the scheme.

Imam Ibrahim Idris therefore expressed confidence that the session would afford him opportunity to know more areas of involvement, so as to ensure timely and prompt compliance to the management of the scheme.

He expressed optimism of a robust and sustainable partnership with the Jaiz Bank in the quest towards improving the wellbeing of pilgrims from the state.

The executive scribe reiterated the commitment of the board to increase awareness on the scheme, noting that a successful sensitisation of intending pilgrims will assist government to improve the implementation of the HSS.
