Sheikh Muhammad Ali al Sabuni, former guest Imam of Masjid Al Haram, Makkah passed away on Friday, 6 Sha’ban 1442 in Yelwa, Turkey at the age of 91
Born in Syria, he was the author of many books on tafsir. He was appointed as lecturer at the Faculty of Sharī‘ah at the Umm al-Qurā’ University and at the Faculty of Education of the King ‘Abdul Azīz University both in Makkah, where he taught for about 28 years.
In Ramadan 1385 H, Sheikh Muhammad Sabuni led the worshippers in Taraweeh Salat in Masjid Al Haram.
